Abstract

This is a review of contents and methodology in personal counselling for adolescents in secondary education. The approach focused on personal growth as a main goal, and on empowerment as .strategy for intervention. First, the framework and adolescent personality features are outlined. Later, several topics related to personal (selfesteem, reasoning, values, etc.) and social (communication, asertivity, group management, etc.) adaptation are separately examined. Along the text, some literary readings are suggested as counselling complements.
