Abstract

The idea of mental representation is contested here, specially, in relationship with symbolic representations in cognitive psychology. First of all, the place of psychology inside the «unified science» called «cognitive science» is anlyzed here. Second: 1 focuse this paper in the psychological works through analytical methodologies (inside of «computer metaphor»), instead of analyze the ontological status of mental representations. Finally, the role of symbols in sciences, in relation with the concept of «mental symbols», is contested here.
