Abstract

This paper studies the effect of a context variable, defined as the mean difference between the dimensions of the choice alternatives, on the cognitive effort made by observers in spontaneous decision-making. The results show a differential effect of the context variable manipulated on the cognitive effort of decision- making strategies used spontaneously by decision-makers.
