Abstract

A revision of the specific characteristics of children's behavioural problems is made. The most useful behavioral procedures, including those published in Spanish, have also been included. Topics such as the adaptation ofthe assessment procedure to the child, context evaluation, the need to consider developmental criteria and the relativity of information sources are analyzed. The exclusive use of interviews, inventories and checklists is criticized. A multi-method assessment framework with data from different sources is defended.
