.Abstract
The First International Congress on Psychological Assessment was an opportunity to bring together nearly four hundred psychology professionals who, in one way or another, are involved in research on the measurement of human behavior.
It also provided the chance to engage in conversation with several prominent figures from the academic field in our country, who participated as speakers at this scientific meeting. These conversations were recorded on magnetic tape and are presented in this and upcoming issues of Apuntes de Psicología, with only minimal changes introduced to the authors’ statements in order to make their spoken discourse more readable.
Professor Vicente Pelechano Barberá was the first to kindly take part in this series of questions (Rocío Fernández-Ballesteros and José Luis Pinillos did so later), just a few hours before delivering his lecture on “Social Intelligence and interpersonal skills: assessment,” the content of which—among other topics—we summarize below.
