Abstract

This study describes the experience of implementing a family psychoeducation programs (based on the model of I. Falloon) in nine Mental Health devices, participating 17 professionals in a multidisciplinary team. The implementation process consisted
of several phases: Development of materials, professionals training, proper implementation of programs and supervision. The experience was assessed as positive by the professionals involved in the project since it allowed to reduce the variability in the family approach of the persons with schizophrenia. Also, training and supervision sessions were a safe space for professional exchange and acquisition of therapeutic skills useful in the implementation of the program.
