Abstract

In the present paper, we describe an approach to risk perception at the workplace. A brief revision is made on the concept of risk and the problems related with its definition. Risk perception at the workplace is a key element to understand workers' risk behavior. The study of diverse explanatory models that could be applied in this field is proposed, more specifically for the area of risk prevention at the workplace. Finally, it is emphasised the need to take into account not only cognitive variables, but also psychosocial factors.
