Abstract

Family interventions are considered now a key piece in psychosocial interventions for schizophrenia. The works accumulates the last two decades have been useful not only
to check the effectiveness of this process in order to reduce recidivist rate in patients and improve their social behaviour, but also have been essential to advanced in the definition of constructs, variables and factors implicates in family response. In relation to interventions process are already sufficiently well-shaped which should be theirs characteristics and critical contents in order to optimize efficiency. This paper has a double objective, on the one hand to review data empirical and conceptual contributions accumulate until today about this kind of actions. On the other hand, and more linked to the reality in mental health services, to outline which variables can help and which ones hinder implementing, real and effective, of this kind of process within the protocols of dairy techniques of interventions.
