Abstract

When psychologists use terms from our discipline, we sometimes assign them different meanings, which leads to confusion and difficulties in our professional communications.

While this situation is unavoidable in certain areas due to psychology’s limited development stemming from its relatively short history, it is less so in the methodological domain. This is because, as our discipline is grounded within the framework of science, it adopts and integrates the general study frameworks and procedures that older specialties have developed over time, enabling us to benefit from them to achieve greater clarity.
