Abstract

Psychoanalysis offered, right from its origins, a therapeutic technique for the cure or relief of different mental disorders. Due to the present demand for psychotherapy, a series of dynamic interventions have appeared. They are interventions that, somewhat distant from conventional psychoanalysis, have been able to shorten the duration of the healing process and facilitated the experimental evaluation of results. The contributions of Sifneos, Malan and specially Davanloo have greatly helped in this development. It is these contributions that are revised in the present article.
