Marcelino López Álvarez, a psychiatrist and sociologist, was the director of the Andalusian Institute of Mental Health from 1985 to 1991. Through his work at the institute, he participated in the entire psychiatric reform process in Andalusia and was one of the promoters of integrating psychologists into public mental health services. He currently directs the Mental Health Program of the Andalusian Health Service.
Considering the subject matter of this monograph, we thought it would be useful to hear the opinion of the person in the Andalusian Administration responsible for planning the role of psychologists in mental healthcare.
