Towards a definition of risk in psychology

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to discuss issues related to the definition of risk,
emphasizing the terminologic confusion generated by the traditional linkage to
the decision theory. The survey of the principal definitions, created from a
psychological point of view, has been structured paying attention to the original
theory or to the original application. As conclusion the importance of an
agreement about a definition will be, mentioned, that combines structural,
contextual and personal aspects that will prevent the application to a great
extent.
