The care of people with schizophrenia and other severe mental disorders remains an important aim for public mental health services, because this group are one of the most unprotected between of persons with mental illness, due to their risk of uprooting and marginality. They need well coordinated networks of health and social services, and trained and involved professionals, and the implementation of effective interventions. The paper present the basic issues from the care of people with schizophrenia in community mental health systems, included internationals references and the experience developed in Andalusia in the last twenty years.Downloads
