Predictores de adicción al trabajo en el profesorado universitario

Resumen

La adicción al trabajo (AT) es una preocupación mundial por sus graves consecuencias y los profesores universitarios la caracterizan como una ocupación de riesgo. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar el poder predictivo de las variables sociodemográficas, ocupacionales y factores psicosociales para las dimensiones de AT en una muestra de 225 docentes universitarios brasileños. Se utilizaron como instrumentos de investigación uncuestionario sociodemográfico y laboral, la Escala Holandesa de Adicción al Trabajo (DUWAS), el Cuestionario Psicosocial de Copenhague (COPSOQII) y un ítem único de Satisfacción con la vida. El análisis de datos se realizó mediante Regresión Lineal Múltiple para las dos dimensiones de Adicción al Trabajo (AT), Trabajo Excesivo (TE) y Trabajo Compulsivo (TC). La dimensión TE reveló un modelo predictivo compuesto por las variables de mayor demanda cuantitativa, sentido del trabajo, remuneración y menor satisfacción con la vida, apoyo social y género femenino. Para la dimensión TC, el modelo se explica por la mayor demanda cuantitativa y compromiso en el trabajo y la menor satisfacción con la vida. Los resultados pueden respaldar nuevos estudios e intervenciones destinadas a mejorar el bienestar en el trabajo y la calidad de vida del profesorado universitario.
