Abstract

This article reflects on the nature, origin, content, and function of symbolic play in preschool children. Play is understood as the fulfillment of emotional, epistemological, and social needs at this developmental stage. Lucid action is defined as a zone of proximal development that enables the experimentation with structures and content of knowledge, particularly those of a social nature.
