Abstract

The concepts addressed in this field cannot be fully approached from an exclusively psychological perspective. Although it is true that psychological science has contributed, and continues to contribute, to improving individuals’ quality of life, it is equally true that this discipline has reached these concepts through changes in political and economic frameworks.

The complexity of conceptually defining terms such as quality of life and social well-being arises from their broad and often imprecise nature, which makes them difficult to measure. Quality of life is defined far more in relation to qualitative aspects, and is therefore inherently personal, than to purely quantitative ones. Consequently, the identification of specific parameters in this field remains a fundamental task today.
