Maltreatment against women at home. A conceptual review

Abstract

The present work tries to explain the phenomenon of the family violence (mistreatment of women) from a global and comprehensive perspective. To that end, and after a brief initial description of the nature of the phenomenon, several concepts pertinent to the description and explanation of the theme are analysed as follows. In addition, the paper covers areas such as the intervention, assessment and methodological strategies proposed by the diverse psychological disciplines and which are relevant in order to broaden our understanding of mistreatment.
