Fear and anxiety in a group of abused adolescents

The present work illustrates the fears and anxiety in a group of abused adolescents, compared to those of an equivalent control group. Results show no differences in the degree and contents of the fears between the abused and control groups. Nevertheless, significant differences in anxiety measures did appear in the older abused subjects.The differences related to the number of panic attack symptoms included in the DSM-IV criteria, and to state and, specially, trait anxiety levels, The implications of these results are discussed.
