Abstract

In spite of the growing tendency to equality between men and women in our culture, there are still some contexts, such as the family, in which a a typical and asimetric division of tasks and responsabilities is still predominant. We resume in this article the way in which child rearing tasks are unequally distributed in homes and describe ourown results in relation to this topic. Although an unequal distribution of tasks related to the care of children is beyond doubt, both data in the relevant literature and from our own study show that this tendency has a great degree of variability, related to characteristics of the family context, such as the mother working out of the home.
