The contribution of community involvement of social welfare

Abstract

Community involvement sector includes various kinds of social interven- tion initiatives. The following contributions may be highlighted among those related to social welfare: pioneering, i.e., the capability to discover new needs and forms of response to them; the expansion of the services offered of the public and commercial providers; avoidance of certain problems such as excess of bureaucracy; response to certain needs these other sectors cannot provide for.
