Sexual behavior and mental disability (I). Theoretical issues

Abstract

This paper presents some general theoretical aspects related to the sexuality of the mentally disabled. The most commonly accepted ideas in our society are considered firts, and compared to conclusions obtained by some authors. Behavioural characteristics and social aspects related to sexual behaviour in, persons with a mental disability are mentioned. Our aim is to present the starting. point of a second article that includes an empirical study describingssome aspects revised in this article.
