Abstract

The International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development (ISSBD) is an international society composed of scholars of human psychological development. Founded over 20 years ago, it has members from all five continents and publishes its own journal, among other activities. One of the society’s main activities is the organisation of conferences. A world congress is held every two years in odd-numbered years, and a European congress in even-numbered years. Starting in 1993, to avoid overlapping with other long-established international conferences held in odd-numbered years and attracting the same specialists, the European meeting will be held in odd-numbered years (next in August 1993 in Bonn, Germany) and the international meeting in even-numbered years starting in 1994 (next in July 1994 in Recife, Brazil).
