.Abstract
Unemployment generates psychic and psychosomatic disorders in affected individuals and an increase in crime rates in the social environment. This article aims to explain, from a multidetermined perspective, the reasons behind these consequences: the processes that develop within the individual, the influences of the surrounding environment, and the paths that the unemployed person is compelled to choose from a lived-experience perspective.
The study also seeks to quantify the importance of work in contemporary human life and, from an evolutionary framework, in the young person awaiting entry into the labor market.
