The purpose of study was to assessment the students´s mathematic achievement in written compute skills and problem solving. We made and validate a test of knowledges for the first cicle (the fi rst and the second in primary schools). The test has two parts. Diferent algoritmic operations are incluyed in the fi rst part and the second part has word problems. It was applied to 1311 students of the Tenerife Island. We compared the students´s achievement in word problems resolution and we sow a lower achievement than the first skills. This is the evidence that though the children knows the algoritmic mechanism however they wrong when he choose the exact operation in the word problems. The intrasubject differential achievement of the subtest gave us the profi le of the curricular competency. In the order part, the intersubject diferential achievement gave us the normative profile.Downloads
