The human figure drawings in schizophrenic patients.

Abstract

It´s presented the human figure drawings by a sample of 21 chronic paranoid schizophrenic men. The analysis of the drawing expressive items, the content components and the general gestaltic aspects of the human figure show severe damages in the identity, partial and disarmonic interpersonal relationships, poor capacity of adaptation to the environment, lack of contact with reality and the use of defensive mechanisms as splitting of the object, negation and projective identification.
