Abstract

Suicidal ideation is a variable that might determine clinical and pathological levels of one’s own death, specially in regards to the thoughts and deeply rooted desires of an adolescent. The aim of this investigation was to analyze the possibly existing
correlations between suicidal ideation and the subject’s personal profile in a sample of teenagers from the Autonomous Community of Navarra. The sample comprised 1194 adolescents aged 14 to 18. The following data collection procedures were used: W. M. Reynolds’ Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire (SIQ): Professional Manual and T. Millon’s Millon Adolescent Clinical Inventory (MACI). Starting from the 65 cases that were found, results show the most significant personal traits of those adolescents with pathological suicidal ideation that indicate significant levels of suicidal ideation. Such finding enables us to determine their clinical and pathological levels and to devise a possible personal profile for them.
