Abstract

Continuous trainingis one of the strategies increasingly employed by the companies for the rapid introduction of technological innovation. The aim of the present study is to analyse the characteristics of the continuous training in 35 companies of the metal- mechanical sector in the Spanish provinces of Valencia and Castellón. Results show that, in general, the companies are very sensible of the issue of continuous training. In second place, two training patterns were found: in the first, training activities are seen as sporadic, while in the second they are conceived as integral part of the companys policy. The only different characteristic between both groups of companies was their size.
