Abstract

The European Family Therapy Association (EFTA), an organisation bringing together family therapy professionals from across Europe, held its first international congress from 12 to 15 November of last year in the city of Sorrento (Italy), on the Bay of Naples.

This event provided an opportunity to gain an overview of the current state of family therapy at an international level, to identify its most prominent lines of research, and to establish contact between professionals. It is worth highlighting the presence of internationally renowned therapists who today constitute the theoretical and practical foundation of systemic family therapy.
