.Abstract
Daily experience in a Family Court reveals the real neglect suffered by children of separated or divorced parents, particularly in financial matters. Payments agreed upon by the parents or established by the judge, as child support, are often not made, or at best, made partially and irregularly. This paper addresses the problem, highlighting its obvious importance, and, through a brief comparative analysis with practices in other countries, proposes a solution approach, which in those countries involves institutionalising support to safeguard children’s rights.
