Abstract

In observational methodology, a number of issues still require detailed examination, among them the matter of description, which is a fundamental element of the procedure.

This work begins with the initiation of the representational process and the nuanced distinction between direct and indirect observation, in order to propose the delimitation of different events and the segmentation of behavior due to its close relationship with the various descriptive levels. A continuous gradation is suggested, rather than the traditional bipolar approach, in order to capture the meaning of observed behavior with greater precision.
