Abstract

The psychology of physical activity and sport has gradually become an interesting option for psychology professionals. Apart from the traditional areas of intervention (high performance, sport initiation and psychological training), in the last few years, new areas related with health and life quality and special needs collectives have been added. It is the combination of these two areas what this paper studies. Our aim is to analyze the role of the sport psychologist and his/her opportunities to act in the area of health and life quality for special needs people.
