Abstract

Although Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) has standardized psychological treatments, clinical practice continues to face a persistent barrier: the difficulty of translating the results of group clinical trials to the unique needs of each patient in real-world settings. In response, Precision Mental Health (PMH) offers a new approach, combining measurement-based care and data-driven decision-making to provide personalised interventions. This evolution is largely possible thank to recent technological developments, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this context, the article has two key objectives. Firstly, it summarises the operational principles of PMH, analysing how routine measurement and algorithmic predictions can enhance the clinical judgement of healthcare professionals. Secondly, it introduces the NOVA (Navigating Outcomes via Analytics) project, a translational initiative designed to overcome attitudinal, technological, statistical, and contextual barriers to implementing PMH tools in Spain. The article discusses the steps needed to bridge the gap between technological innovation and clinical practice in psychology, with the aim of accelerating the sustainable adoption of precision psychology in the real world.
