Abstract

On 7 August 2025, Ramón Bayés decided that his journey had been long enough and that prolonging it would not be pleasant.
Born in 1930, he was trained and worked as an industrial technician and came to psychology long before beginning his degree in 1976, when he was already an enormously influential author thanks to An Introduction to the Scientific Method in Psychology (Bayés, 1974). Linked throughout his academic life to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where he retired as a professor, he was an outstanding communicator and educator, author of more than 700 articles and a very respectable number of books, combining experimental work with ethical, philosophical or simply humanistic reflections.
