Family Therapy and Social Services in Community

Abstract

This article reflects on the appropriateness and suitability of the use of models and techniques of family therapy in the context of Social Services. This examines the legal and regulatory justifying family therapy, outlines the technical reasons that suggest why and wherefore of family psychotherapy as well as some of the theoretical models that give context or frame to such practices. Article concludes with a brief description of family therapy experiences related to social services in three local corporations in the province of Seville and presenting the general profile of the requests for help in them.
