Mediation in conflicts in ordinary criminal jurisdiction

This article reviews the use of mediation as an alternative measure for the resolution of some of the conflicts that reach ordinary criminal justice procedures. It involves understanding mediation as a complementary or alternative measure within the legal process. Mediation permits communication between the victim and the offender. With the help of a mediator, agreement can be reached on aspects such as reparation, restitution, conciliation and possible future prevention.
