Abstract

The decisive development in Spain of a welfare state has generated a spectacular change in the organization of the public service systems. The implementation of the social services system and the consolidation of the primary health network requires well trained specialized personnel that can guarantee the quality of the services provided. However, this also entails changes in the training of psychologists, both at the under and the post graduate levels. The article reviews some of the suggestions proposed in different contexts for the training in community and social intervention, The present situation in Spain is analyzed.
