Abstract

This article describes the influence of the evolution and development of community social services on the professional practice of the psychologists that work in them. The prevention of social exclusion is presented as the most adequate psychosocial model for the community social services system. Finally, it is proposed that the psychologists' professional intervention should follow a community-based strategy. The activities that arise from the basic services that are provided by these services are used to define the psychologists" role.
