The present work attempts to introduce a new concept, «intervention locus», in Brief Dynamic Psychotherapy. This concept is related to thé concept of «focus» described by Balint, although this it is has a broader meaning. It is intended that «this will expand the traditional limits within which Brief Psychotherapy had been developing. This theoretical expansion involves, on a practical level, a different way of acting: less restrictive and more flexible, since it would be carried out considering mechanisms other than those contemplated by Balint's focal therapy. As a consequence, it would be possible to Use these brief techniques with a greater number of patients.
