.Abstract
On 15, 16 and 17 November 1989, the Conference on Early Childhood Intervention, School and Socio-Occupational Integration of Disabled People was held in Seville. The event was organised by the Base Centre for Disabled People of the Provincial Directorate of the Andalusian Institute of Social Services (Instituto Andaluz de Servicios Sociales, IASS) of the Regional Government of Andalusia and sponsored by various public and private organisations.
The main objectives of the meeting were to inform and advise parents, as well as professionals, about the resources available in society for disabled people from birth to full socio-occupational integration. The need for coordination among the different bodies involved in this continuum was emphasised. The speakers presented advances and new perspectives of work from different regions of the country, with the aim of raising awareness and mobilising those involved towards the achievement of the objectives outlined above.
