La rehabilitación psicosocial de pacientes con esquizofrenia crónica

Abstract

The present article describes the psychosocial rehabilitation process. There are analyzed aspects like the necessity to implant it in the treatment of the people with chronic schizophrenia, the impact of social stigmata, the objectives and methodology of intervention described in several phases like the initials, assessment, establishment of an individualized rehabilitation plan, intervention itself and outcome. It is commented that not all methodology is valid in psychosocial rehabilitation, being necessary a theoretical and philosophy base and the use of evidence based interventions. The article concludes making mention to the importance of the rehabilitation team, the necessity of a good interinstitutional coordination as well as some risks to avoid in the future.
