.Abstract
As repeatedly noted by numerous authors, one of the most important problems encountered when attempting cognitive modifiability in the context of intellectual disability is the issue of generalization of the strategies acquired during a given training.
It is logical that the interest of many researchers is directed in this sense, since without generalization, the efforts developed in any cognitive training program would be excessively restricted and of limited usefulness in attempts to improve the intelligence of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
It can be asserted that the deficit in generalizing learned strategies constitutes the fundamental difficulty currently faced when designing a training program aimed at effectively enhancing intellectual functioning.
