Acceptance and commitment therapy applied to a case of dual pathology
Abstract
This paper shows the work carried out in a case of dual diagnosis or dual diagnosis through the strategies derived from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Using this model of intervention to address a new approach aimed not so much to change certain internal events related to drug use, such as thoughts and desires subjective drug, as a change in vision to the patient’s values. We describe a patient 41, diagnosed with cocaine dependence and Borderline Personality Disorder. Describes the different stages of change regarding the management of such events and the enhancement of client’s goals as a tool to quit substance use.
