In this study we analyse the impact of a meditation programme on the stress perception of students in the first year of Teacher Training for Primary Education. For this purpose, we counted on the participation of an experimental group in this meditationprogramme and a control group that did not take part in this intervention. The stress perception levels of the subjects participating in this research were assessed by means of the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) (Cohen, Kamark and Mermelstein, 1983) and the Strain Questionnaire (Luecken et al, 1997). The statistical analyses carried out showed a significant reduction in the stress perception levels of the experimental group in comparison with the control group. Therefore, it can be concluded that meditation techniques should be taken into account for the training of future primary school teachers, in order to provide them with a series of resources that will allow them to deal effectively with the different stressful situations they will have to confront in their work as teachers.
